Marion Street Cheese Market strives to work with companies that think local, sustainable and who give back to the community. This month, we’re giving a shout out to these folks who we think are pretty special for all the good they do:

Aspire Coffee- helps create new jobs for people with developmental disabilities. Locally roasted in Chicago, IL.

Bee Line Urban Honey- committed to training and employing residents of the North Lawndale community of Chicago who are often locked out of the traditional labor market due to past criminal records and other barriers to employment.

Spring Brook Farm’s Tarentaise cheese- these folks provide education in the great outdoors for urban youth who get the opportunity to learn firsthand about the celebrated farming traditions of Vermont.

Fair Valley Chenin Blanc- 100% of the proceeds go directly to the workers behind the wine in South Africa.

Nita Crisps- all of their packaging is labeled and hand-packed by workers with developmental disabilities who produce quality work for local businesses.
